Every year, it transforms into a dazzling spectacle during the Fourth of july fireworks, drawing crowds from all over just to watch the sky light up in a riot of colors. The park has hosted the local Art and Craft Show since 2013, where you can stroll past booths filled with handmade jewelry, pottery, and quirky paintings, honestly, it’s a bit like walking through a colorful treasure hunt. Back in 2003, the park hosted a keynote lecture by a well-known author, and surprisingly, it drew more folks than I expected, guess everyone loves a good story. Since 2014, the community has really stepped up, partnering with nearby businesses to keep the park lively and supported. The small lake in the middle is a favorite for fishing, I swear I’ve seen kids and adults alike casting lines for bass and catfish, sometimes exchanging tips or just relaxing in the sun. And if you’re just there for a picnic or family gathering, you’ll notice people setting up tents and grills, turning the green space into a patchwork of laughter and chatter. Getting there is pretty straightforward, just turn right at the stoplights onto Devon Park Road if you're coming from downtown, or follow Highway 66 if you're coming from the airport area. Honestly, it’s a spot that’s got a little bit of everything, a place to relax, have fun, and feel connected to the community. Trust me, I’ve been many times, and I still find something new to love about it every visit.

The park also hosts the Big 12 Softball Championship Tournament from may 12 to May 15, 2027, with all-session passes available.
